- My favorite project during the semester was probably the Photoshop project because it was fun and easy and I learned a lot from it. During this project, I put together a nice advertisement for myself as a personal trainer and I was able to learn from Adobe Photoshop. My advertisement came out very nice and the pictures of myself working out in the gym were very high quality.
- I learned a lot about the different types of Adobe programs and I believe they can all come in handy for future projects in social media and other content related projects. I think the adobe audition would be helpful for future use if I ever wanted to make a podcast or possibly adobe Photoshop if I ever wanted to make another advertisement for future business promotions. Having these skills can benefit when applying for future jobs and can prove to be beneficial for becoming computer savvy and will also provided the knowledge to use any adobe program in the future.
- I look forward to working in sports agency or possibly marketing or ticket sales for a future sports management role or career. If I worked in ticket sales or marketing then I could definitely see myself using the Photoshop to make fliers for advertisements and marketing and that would help towards job opportunities in the future and I believe this could definitely be beneficial for me in the future. The Adobe Audition was also a useful program and I think it could help with future creative projects that would help making content fun and easy. Making podcasts would definitely be a lot of fun and could help with job opportunities as well.
- I did not learn much from the logo creating project and it was very difficult to be able to follow the tutorials and I thought they were very confusing and complicated. I wish the program would have been more user friendly and I wish all the programs would have ran more smoothly with my laptop. I think being able to have the resources and knowledge to be making logos is a fun and useful skill. If I could use the program more efficiently then I would be set for the future in that category in adobe.
- I used Youtube to research any extra questions I had when working with Adobe creative programs. There were plenty of helpful videos on the Internet that would assist me when I got stuck on a certain step or when I was having technical difficulties with Adobe Audition and Premiere on my Laptop. My laptop is older so it became increasingly difficult to use the programs and to make my videos and audio flow smoothly.
- I think the tutorials can be helpful and useful but they can also be very difficult and take up your whole day when trying to finish them. I think it would be better If there was only like one or two tutorials per unit instead of four or five per unit. The whole thing is very time consuming and takes up many days and hours every week and it becomes a lot when you have a bunch of other work going on in your other classes. I think if the class was restructured a bit then students would do much better in this class. Also adobe was very expensive and they charged me a lot to cancel my membership and I was not informed this when I signed up for the class and the membership.

Final Video Story
Idea and Inspiration
For this project, I decided to use adobe premiere to create a fitness routine style workout video advertisement. My course topic is fitness so I decided to put together a fun, creative advertisement that is related to working out and exercise. The fitness and advertisement aspect coincided with my logo and workout trainer flier as well so I felt like this was a good choice for the final unit of the class.
Design Process
I have seen many advertisements on television for personal trainers and workout videos from people on Youtube and that is what first gave me the idea for a workout advertisement. The Youtube videos of workout sessions gave me a feel for the design. I knew I first had to start off by taking an establishing shot the beginning introduction and then get plenty of different shots and angles with different lifts and exercises. Having cutaway scenes of weight racks and gym equipment was a nice addition for me to make the advertisement smooth.
Technical Detail
In order to get the shots I needed, I used a tripod to record me and get the lifts in my routine and I took those clips and pieced them together. I used the establishing shot to begin the video and then used a combination of wide and medium shots to capture video of my workouts. In between these shots, I used the B-roll technique to alternate scenes as a cutaway that flowed nicely together. The adobe premiere was pretty difficult to use on my old Asus Microsoft laptop and video sometimes turned out a bit slow and laggy and using other computers helped speed up the process. I would suggest using the libraries computers if looking to have the best possible outcome or at the very least have a newer updated laptop so the adobe program doesn’t run slow and glitch out on you mid project.
In revision I added some background music that I found on freesound.org. I faded it in and out so that it matched the video. I also added text to my clips to advertise my service and explain what it offered. Finally, I added some effects and transitions to my clips to make them flow smoothly and look professional.
Sources and Materials
I used the song “Melody Loop Mix” by JPMusic82. I found it here https://freesound.org/people/JPMusic82/sounds/415511/ and it was under a Creative Commons 0 license (public domain).

Audio Story Final Draft
Idea and Inspiration
For this unit 3 project, I decided to put together a quick podcast that dove into fitness and health. I did this by asking a guest on the podcast what their typical day at the gym was and what motivated them to go in hopes of gaining more knowledge on what entices people to exercise regularly. This podcast is a way of producing informative content that relates to my topic of fitness and health and further reaches out to real people who choose to live fitness lifestyle.
Design Process
This design process required some audio editing and I used different elements from the readings so I could construct and organize the project. I used written script to compose narration for the beginning of the introduction to get it started smoothly. I then used actualities to piece together the interviews in the podcast. Interviewing my roommate was fast and easy and I got enough content to piece together a good, yet short and straight to the point podcast. Every actuality needed to be lined up after the introduction narration and this put together a nice timeline.
Technical Detail
In order to organize and collect the content of the interview, there must be a hierarchy timeline to differentiate narration from actualities, ambient sounds and music in different sections.
Adobe audition was easy to use and I edited the audio by using the moving tool to drag my recordings together and I also use the razor tool to cut unneeded content out of the audio to make it clean. The only technical details I struggled with was the exporting and uploading on soundcloud and figuring out how to embed it correctly. I eventually saved it in the right file and was able to successfully upload it online to Soundcloud. The final draft will include music, more razor tool and more content to make to the best possible fitness podcast for the final.
Revisions
I made a few different revisions to my audio. The first was that I made sure to add music to the introduction and ending of the podcast interview. I got my music from freesound.org and it was under a attribution license that allowed me to use and remix it for free. I also added in my own commentary at the end of the podcast to make the piece more conversational. I removed a few of the gaps between the soundbites to make it sound more clean. The music at the end had a fade in to signal the end of the podcast.

Logo Final Draft
Idea and Inspiration
For this draft logo project I decided to make a logo for a personal fitness organization. In the previous project, I made a poster board filled with exercise and lifting pictures so I decided to make a potential branding logo to advertise a personal training business.
Design Process
I looked up other fitness companies logos to get an idea of the logos and I compared different ones to see which ones really stood out to me. I realized designs were simple and many had a flat appearance and these designs lacked three dimensional appearance so I wanted to create something to fit the market while also standing out. By including the barbell weight and bicep, I wanted to represent the brands main points and goals, to focus on exercise and fitness with a structured training program. I first did a hand sketch of my draft and then uploaded the rough draft image to adobe illustrator. I used the adobe program to include design principles such as similarity, figure and ground and gradient colors to make the design really pop out. By using similar elliptical shapes to create the the barbell, it created similarity to increase visual unity. By using negative space, I created dimension to my logo which made it seem cohesive.
After reviewing the feedback from my peers, I decided it was best to make a few changes to the overall appearance of my logo. I made three distinct changes, the first one was adding a thicker stroke to the outline of the logo. Secondly, I added a dark stroke to the arm to make it stand out more on the design. Lastly, I changed the gradient from two colors of red to an orange to red combination that really made a difference. These edits increased my content’s sense of cohesiveness and made my intended branding seem much stronger.
Technical Detail
I created the elements by combining shapes made in illustrator with hand drawn sketches, which I converted into vector graphics. I used tools such as the elliptical and rectangular tools to created the barbell in the middle of the logo which was the easiest part. The bicep was a bit more tricky and required using the paint brush tool that a friend recommended to convert the image to a vector graphic. The hardest part about the paint brush tool is that it was really sensitive to any shaky movements. I would recommend zooming in really close to get a clean cut line on the graphic. I also used the text tool and the gradient feature for the wording and coloring.
